The maiden ghosts of old Korea were tourists from the future

I have started a new game. It began with one line: what if all those old Korean stories about maiden ghosts were really about tourists from the future?

In this world, time machines exist. But every attempt to change the past ended badly, so changing it was banned. What came instead was tourism. You put on a white mourning dress, let your hair down, pack some modern gear, and spend a night in a Joseon-era village scaring people.

That is also why the ghosts never speak. It is not silence. The language of a few hundred years ago is so different that nobody would understand you anyway.

Here is how it plays. You watch where the villagers go at night, hide your gear (a sound emitter, a hologram, a rig that lifts you off the ground), and wait for the right moment. At the end of the tour you get a satisfaction rating. Scaring a cruel nobleman or a corrupt magistrate earns extra.

There is one rule. Scare innocent people too much and the timeline starts to shake. Let it build up, and a real ghost shows up. From then on, it is not a prank anymore.

I am making two versions: a co-op game on Roblox where friends split the roles, and a single-player first-person game for Steam. Both are just reaching their first prototype, so neither has a name yet. I will write more here as they come along.

Feedback on this one goes in YouTube comments or the Steam discussion board. Also on YouTube — @HerniDedalvs.
