A family member is buying a Tesla, so I got curious about what you can bolt onto a car and registered as a Tesla developer. The plan was to send a destination from my phone to the car.
But once I poked at it a little, a couple of things gave me pause. One, the Tesla app and Google Maps seem to already do something similar. Two, every time you send a destination, the cost lands on whoever built it. Whether those are real dealbreakers or just me not knowing enough to judge, I honestly can’t tell yet.
So I stopped, for now. A few days of poking around doesn’t make me qualified to call it "works" or "doesn’t."
The developer registration is done. For a single car the built-in feature is probably enough, but running several at once might be a different story. If something comes to mind, drop me a line — [email protected].
No conclusion here. Just writing down where I got to.
